Overview
Custom Domain
Use your own domain for event registration pages instead of gatsby.events. Requires DNS configuration and is available as a paid add-on.
What Custom Domains Do
Section titled “What Custom Domains Do”By default, your registration links use gatsby.events/yourcompany. Guests see our domain in their browser.
With a custom domain, links use your subdomain instead. events.company.com. rsvp.yourfirm.com. Whatever you choose.
This applies to all registration links, landing pages, and RSVP URLs. Guests never see Gatsby branding in the address bar.
Setting Up a Custom Domain
Section titled “Setting Up a Custom Domain”Setup requires coordination between you and Gatsby’s team. You handle the DNS configuration. Gatsby handles the backend activation.
What You Need to Do
You’ll configure DNS records with your domain registrar or DNS provider.
-
Decide on your subdomain (events.company.com, rsvp.company.com, etc.).
-
Add a CNAME record pointing your subdomain to Gatsby’s servers.
-
Add TXT records for SSL certificate verification.
-
Let Gatsby know once the records are in place.
Gatsby provides the specific record values during setup. The exact entries depend on your chosen subdomain and SSL verification requirements.
What Gatsby Handles
Once your DNS records are configured, Gatsby completes the setup:
- Backend domain routing configuration
- SSL certificate provisioning
- Domain activation and testing
This requires manual work on Gatsby’s end. Allow time for the team to complete their portion after you’ve added the DNS records.
Domain Options
Section titled “Domain Options”You can use either a subdomain or a root domain. Most teams choose subdomains.
Subdomain (Most Common)
A subdomain sits under your main website domain.
Examples:
- events.company.com
- rsvp.yourfirm.com
- register.acmecapital.com
Best for ongoing use across multiple events. Your main website stays completely unaffected. IT teams prefer this because it doesn’t touch production infrastructure.
Root Domain
A standalone domain used directly for event registration.
Examples:
- annualsummit.com
- investorweek.io
Typically reserved for major standalone events. Annual conferences. Multi-day summits. Events with their own dedicated branding and marketing presence.
Requires more DNS configuration since you’re pointing an entire domain rather than a subdomain.
Related Branding Options
Section titled “Related Branding Options”Custom domains work alongside other customizations to create a fully branded experience.
Remove 'Powered by Gatsby'
Hide Gatsby branding from email campaign footers.
Available under the “Team Settings” page in your account.
Custom Fonts
Use your brand fonts on landing pages instead of Gatsby’s defaults.
Contact our support team to have these uploaded for you. Proof of license will be need to be provided.
Pricing and Availability
Section titled “Pricing and Availability”Custom domains are a paid add-on to standard Gatsby plans. Setup requires manual configuration on Gatsby’s end.
Contact your Gatsby account team via Slack or email to enable custom domains for your workspace.
Common Questions
Section titled “Common Questions” Do I need technical expertise to set this up?
You need access to your domain’s DNS settings. This is typically managed by your IT team or whoever controls your company’s domain registrar.
Gatsby provides the specific records to add. You don’t need to understand DNS deeply. Just copy and paste the values into your DNS provider.
How long does setup take?
DNS changes typically propagate within 24-48 hours. Some providers are faster.
After DNS propagation, Gatsby completes the backend configuration. Total timeline depends on scheduling with the Gatsby team.
Can I use different domains for different events?
Contact Gatsby to discuss your specific needs. Multiple domain configurations may be available depending on your plan.
What happens to existing links if I enable a custom domain?
Contact Gatsby before enabling to understand how the transition affects your current registration links and any events already in progress.

SendGrid allows @yourcompany.com sending. Custom domain (events.yourcompany.com) requires paid add-on. Both require DNS setup. Contact us for more info.
